There are plenty of races for all except the bums to win a race.

Now is the time to make all 2000 and 5000 claim races non-winners in the last 30 days. This will give more bums a chance to win a race.

Add a 7500 claim with the 10000 claims to be open ended claims.
The repeat winners at the claim level can run in these while giving the bums a few wins.

I believe it is time for non-winner races. There are more and more stables being added everyday, therefore making more horses and better competition. I agree and know they will fill with 12 runners everytime.

I have rid myself of most of those types but I still have a few. Many of the "old guard" hates this idea but it's an idea whose time has come. I suggested something like this awhile back and got grilled for it by the usual suspects. And I mean that affectionately kids, before somebody goes off half cocked. Everybody here is good people.

Hear me out. There is a group that are stumbling over themselves breeding Jesse James' and Pension Plans', and now you can add McFly and probably a couple other very high profile sires. Big Bucks there. Not everybody can play that way. And for myself, I refuse, but that's another matter.

You can't just have a game of expensive "rockets". You will completely alianate the newer players that come into this game. Not all will be shooters. They will have cheap horses that need a place to compete too or you will lose them. You need both types of players here for this game to grow. The folks that will come here and try to play this game as cheaply as possible need to be catered to also. After all, they will be paying monthly and paying entry fees too. It's not a free ride.

There is no reason that fillies and colts can not run together in the 2000 and 5000 claimers ---- fillies and mares can get 4 or 5 pound allowance.
This will fill to 12 ever time plus with the 30 days between wins a LOT of other horses will have a CHANCE TO WIN A RACE.

a 3rd course or another track would help i feel (as explained in a previous thread) a 3rd course this time a 5 or 6f straight through the middle of existing track ((i know this idea will be most unpopular cos its European style)see Sandown or Kempton)
this would give everyone a chance as with having no bends the draw would be even for all...? would take very little to implement...
other track(s) must come eventually as the world has more than one track

I agree about keeping up with Jones only to a certain extent as just as the lower trainers like myself they have the right to their existance
but i agree the breeding is ultra expensive these days if u want to compete
been trying to raise my breeding fees so i can participate with the big boys

tho' i never played the other pay sites.. this is starting to go that way too(its us so-called bums that keep real racing alive)
i would not call anyone here a bum cos we each have our niche ..just have niches better than others and not all of us can pay the big prices now being offered i remember the shock of Jesse James offered at an exorbitent rate...lay stagnant for weeks til Ali bought it ..he hasnt looked back since...

ergo we small trainers who cannot compete for whatever reason must have an outlet a 2nd track limited to trainers outside the top ten is a possible solution ?? unless by some miracle we get a monster create..my 1st ever horse was one of those but i retired it too soon(Dimensional)

Color me the "old Guard" who hates this idea. (I'm not that old really). It simply makes no sense given the current make up of the races we have. Most $2,000 claimers are horses with 0 or 1 win. Allowing a cheap horse a limit of 1 win per month does nothing to help small stables it only penalizes them when they finally do manage to get a win.

Also, being a small or low budget stable has no bearing on the quality of horses a barn has. I think I might classify as a small, low budget stable but I manage to get my hands on some good horses without paying high prices. Many of the top horses on the leaderboard are cheap created horses.

Occassional condition claimers may have a place, but really...look at the horses running for $2,000. What purpose does it serve to condition any of these horses out of these races?

One minor change ----- non-winners at 2000 in the last 30 days ------
non-winners at 5000 in the last 30 days.

This means you can win at 2000 then you must run for 5000 or wait 30 days.
Now if you win at both then you must wait.

The 7500 claim will act just like the 5000 claim with no conditions or just like it is now. To have 2000 and 5000 claimers running a 94 or 95 rating right now means a lot of horses get killed off.

I like the idea presented by Aspen. I'll throw this idea out and see what people think. What if the $2,000 claim and maybe $5,000 claim races had a class system resembling that of the dog races? You have four classes(or whatever) A,B,C and D. If you win a race in D then you move up to C; if you win in C then you move up to B. If you have say three races out of the money in a certain class then you are eligible to drop down to the next lower class. Maybe too complicated and maybe not wanted or liked but just an idea to throw out there.
