Mid Week Stakes Races

I know this has been brought up before so I thought I'd rehash it. I'd like to see mid week stakes races, if for no other reason than to give allowance caliber horses that aren't stakes quality horses a chance to run more. Most horses can run twice per week. This leaves the mid week allowances races full of stakes quality horses, leaving the true allowance level horses basically running once per week or forced to drop into the claiming ranks.

Brain the only problem I see with that is it will still be the same horses racing in the stake races. Like you said most horses can race twice a week and that will be what will most likely happen.

Yes, that's true Sal. But I think what Brian is saying is that the stakes horses will run in the stakes races leaving the allowance races to the true allowance horses. (not having to compete with the stakes horses).....................I think

Yeah what jeff said that's what I meant. i.e. you can run you horse on allowance on saturday and it do well run it on wednesday and its up against stake horses so you eithe run it just on saturday or drop in to the claiming ranks and risk losing it.
