Wow what a shock!...i was just wondering if there might be a legitimate reason for Al's poor performance tonight. There is no doubt he is a great youngster, but he never looked a winning hope at any stage in tonights DD Qualifier. His prior form suggests beyond a doubt he is one of,if not, the best 2yo colt in the game. But, tonight he was legless. Hendo has his stable going like rocketships at the moment and im struggling to find a reason for Al's sub par effort tonight. Four of his previous wins came at varying trips between 7f and 1 1/2m, so it was not the journey of tonights assignment. It was the first time in his career that he faced more than 8 horses in a race, and he raced in a forward position in all of his wins. It looks to me that Hendo may have had the young star on RELAX in an effort to offset his poor draw (9 of 11), and Chantal over reacted to the instruction. Or, as has happened to me..his meters may have been out of whack....anyone else with an opinion?

I think Hendo is the only one with that info.
On a side note, Tevennec's youngster proved she is up to that class tonight. Assassin's Creed only beat her because she got the rail in the run home. Ship Vs Lighthouse battled on with the slightly wider run home.

well no mention of eras run in the race. so let me. drew the 11 hole was shocked when he went up that close to the lead was hung the whole race pushed wide in stretch so imo he is still a very tuff horse based of what happened in that race and he lost by 1 length. I say he is still going to be tuff in theses Qs and the champ race... But JMO and of course I own him so pushing him a bit.... But I still say he gets there >> Now with this new training we have for 2 yr olds well... That can affect a lot of things. Dan is breeding like wild fire and finding some to run in theses races... So I guess anything can happen... Anyway GL to everyone in theses racesThe King Has Spoken

There is no doubt in the world King that " Era " was a terriffic effort. He certainly put on a show of courage and tenacity. And i echo your words that he will be a monumental player in the DD Series...good luck with him. It must be a tremendous thrill to be perched up on the throne with your robe and crown, sceptre in hand, knowing you have a genuine chance in the Champ series..i like so much!!

I know he had a better trip and only beat New Era by .01 seconds, however he is my best horse so far in my first full season. Hopefully I can pick up a bunch of seconds and keep his conditions for later when the big guns are only in stakes.
You can't go wrong breeding to Norm's stallions.
