    Comment:

American Gangster Has won 3 from 21 starts all at 6f. Last start fair 3rd behind Dress To the Left 9f dirt Open after a similar 3rd 9f dirt Open btn 1len by Impetus Binkster. This field looks a lot tougher than he has raced against recently and would prefer him over a shorter distance. Breeding: Explosive/Big Blue Eyes

Mutola Power Has won 4 of 16 in lower classes. Last start finished strongly beaten by a neck behind Jake 10f dirt 50K Starter Allowance. Previously close 2nd to Drug Money 1mile 75K Claimer when finishing on. Rarely runs a bad race but this is a couple of steps above in class. Looking elsewhere. Breeding: Marathon/Belle of the West

Jake Won 5 of 12 in lower grade. Two starts back led all the way downing Big Business 10f dirt 50K SA by 3 lengths. This was followed by a narrow win over Mutola Power 10f dirt 50K SA carrying 121lbs. On-pace galloper, drawn well and looks like he will be able to handle the class ok. Good chance. Breeding: Explosive/ELASTICITY

WhataBooger Won 7 from 15 career starts mostly sprints. Last start narrow 2nd behind Bad Boy 6f Open Alw when finishing on. This followed a fast finishing 7th of 8 (btn 1len) behind Bad Boy. Prior, was all the way winner in weak 9f Opn. Recently claimed and appears up to the class but distance is his main worry. If he can get on the fence in front, might take some running down. Show. Breeding: Created

Kris's Casey Has won 5 times from 15 attempts. Winner last start 3-horse field when finished nicely downing Ring of Doom. 9f dirt Opn Alw. Previous was fast finishing narrow second behind Dress To The Left 9f dirt Open. Won his first 3 starts over a mile in strong fashion then went off the boil but appears to be coming back to his best at the right time for this. However, this is a lot stronger than recent starts. Rough show. Breeding: Lake Case/KristheQueen

Seaquester Only 4 career starts for 2 wins and 2 seconds. Narrowly beaten by Bad Boy last start 6f dirt Super Star Sprint when finishing on. 3 starts back came close when 2nd to The Unknown 9f dirt Super Star Route when finished powerfully. From a new stable which has set this one right at all his 4 starts. More experienced and this one will be tough to beat. Breeding: Created

Big Cliff Only 4 runs for 2 wins. Last start wasn't far away when 5th of 8 (btn 1/2len) behind Bad Boy Super Star Sprint 6f after a lackluster 5th of 6 (btn 2len) behind Seaquester also at 6f. First attempt at the distance which will be his biggest hurdle. Prefer to watch. Breeding: Something Big/Cliff Dive

Impetus Binkster Won 6 from 16. 3 starts back impressive winner over this distance/surface when ran them off their feet and held on to win by a length from Bad Boy. This was followed by a fading 4th (btn neck) to Bad Boy 6f Super Star Sprint. Latest was a tiring 4th of 4 beaten 2len by Bad Boy. Best if he can sneak away to a long lead but there is a lot of pace on his inside today and the task might be more difficult. One of the main chances. Breeding: The Binkster/Impressive.

King Corty Won 5 of his 15 starts. 2 starts back was a fading 3rd behind The Unknown after leading early 9f Super Start Route. Never in it last start with a change of rider, struggling last of 8 behind Impetus Binkster 9f Open. Krutz back in the saddle which is a plus but the bad draw for this on pace horse will prove difficult to overcome. If he can get the sit behind the leaders will be a good chance but if caught wide, he will struggle. Passing. Breeding: Royal Blood/Princess Deb.

Bad Boy 11 strong wins from 22 starts. Three starts back was fast finishing 2nd to The Unknown Super Star Route 9f dirt. Made amends next start when narrow winner over Seaquester 6f Super Star Route on the dirt. Last start equally impressive when narrow winner over WhataBooger 6f dirt Open. Star 2yo colt of the season and although drawn badly is too classy to be left out. Breeding: Lunar Fly/ELASTICITY

Spirited Attack Won 4 from 14. 2 starts back was close 5th of 9 behind Pass The Salt 20K Claimer 7f dirt when finishing on. Last start got too far back when closing 4th of 4 (btn 3len) 10f turf 20K Claimer (claimed). Running for a new stable but this appears way above him at this stage. No. Breeding: Plan of Attack/Graceful Spirit

The Unknown Has won 7 of his 13 career starts. Last start tried to lead all the way but found the distance too far when last of 3 beaten 4 lengths behind Kris's Casey 12f turf Open. Previous start was impressive winner this class 9f Super Star Route beating Seaquester by a head. Classy and will need a ton of luck from this draw. Chance. Breeding: Shuttle Bay/Americana.

    Comment:

Laced Up Binkster Won 3 from 12 starts. Three starts back drew wide and finished 10th of 12 in the Mystic Mile won by Sal's Lovely Key. Latest runs have been disappointing, a 5th of 6 followed up with a last of 5 in Open Company. This class looks beyond her at this stage.

Orbital Velocity 18 starts for 4 wins. 4 starts back won a 9f dirt 75K Claimer beating Silverlake Rider. Last 3 starts have only been fair with the latest being a lackluster 3rd (btn 2len) behind FAREWELL CHAMP 9f dirt when appeared outclassed. Hard to see her turning the tables in this.

Time To Dive Has won 5 from 14 starts. Ex-2K claimer who has matched the best since changing hands. 3 starts back closed rapidly along the rail to be a close 3rd (btn nk) Sal's Lovely Key and FAREWELL CHAMP in the Mystic Mile. Followed this with a dead-heat with Sal's Lovely Key 9f dirt when nailed right on the line. Last start was disappointing when she only plodded down the Stretch, a well-beaten 4th to FAREWELL CHAMP 9f dirt. Forgive the last run and she can't be left out.

Sal's Lovely Key Won 5 of 16. Form has been first-rate since 4 starts back when well-beaten last of 10 behind FAREWELL CHAMP 9f dirt Super Star Route. Finished powerfully when given galloping room down the stretch to overhaul FAREWELL CHAMP in the Mystic Mile. Then finished well again when dead-heating with Time To Dive 9f dirt Open. Last start tried different tactics when trying to lead all the way but got the staggers in the run home when a tiring 2nd to FAREWELL CHAMP. Small field will suit if the stable decides to ease her back in the early stages and will sprout wings again down the Stretch. One of the main chances.

FAREWELL CHAMP Has saluted the judge 11 times from 21 starts. Form has been impeccable, last start travelled 3-wide early, taking the lead on the turn and strode away for an easy win 9f dirt Open after a narrower win over Sal's Lovely Key 9f dirt Open. She has won all 3 previous Super Star Route events this season and she'll be tough to beat again.

IntrigueWon 9 from 17 (unplaced twice). Form has tapered off last couple of runs after a strong win over Time To Dive 9f turf Open when she led all the way. Last 2 starts she has struggled home behind the same horses she meets today. Smaller field may help but will need to find her class again to figure in the finish. Show.

Giamialia Won 1 from 9 starts (unplaced twice). Has been running well in restricted Alw. company, last start chased home Bears Are Dancin 10f dirt Alw. (NW2) when beaten 3 lengths. Previously, tried to lead all the way but run down by Colleens Dimension in the run home 12f dirt Alw. (NW2) beaten 2 lengths. Will find this company a lot tougher to handle. Not yet.

Looky Loo Won 7 from 15 career starts. Stablemate to Intrigue. 3 starts back came from last when fast finishing 6th to Sal's Lovely Key (btn 2len) in the Mystic Mile after drawing very wide. Then too good for Acacia 7f dirt Open Alw which was followed up by another win in a 3-horse Super Star Sprint 6f dirt putting paid to Victoriously. This distance suits, Gard has ridden her once for an Open win at her 2nd race start which adds up to giving her a strong chance in this small field. Can't leave out.

          What the jockeys said..."

Conversations heard in the jockeys room after the Super Star Route races...

          2yo colts:

Lopez (American Gangster - 8th) "Found the class a bit hot. No early speed and although he finished fairly was never gonna win it"

Oneto Jr. (Mutola Power - 11th) "Settled at the rear and pretty much stayed there throughout. Might be ok a bit later but these others are too good for him at this stage"

Solis (Jake -3rd) "Pleasing run. I kept him out of trouble most of the way and he responded nicely in the last furlong. Good horse."

McKay (WhataBooger - 9th) "Had enough before the turn. Had him cruising in 3rd spot but when the pace quickened he didn't respond. Needs shorter".

Gard (Kris's Casey - 2nd) "Was a little wide early but moved one off the fence later and kept King Corty outside. KC was just too good in the run home"

Nelson (Seaquester - 4th) "Surprisingly a good run. He was never on the track and he finished well. Hope to ride him again"

Pana (Big Cliff - 6th) "Not too bad. Passed a few tired horses in the run home. Not quite at this level yet but close."

Bonneau (Impetus Binkster - 7th) "Followed the trainer's instructions to led him bowl along out in front. He made it to the furlong pole but then wanted to lay down and go to sleep"

Krutz (King Corty - winner) "Gutsy effort. Wasn't in the best of positions down the backstretch but he moved into the race strongly on the turn. He will win more"

Smith (Bad Boy - 5th) "I tried everything to get him closer to the fence but he seemed to shy away from the horses on his inside. Finished ok but he needs to draw further inside to be a threat"

Elliot (Spirited Attack - last) "Got too far back early. He just couldn't keep up. Finished ok but only on the heels of tiring horses. Best races will be in the claimers"

Velez (The Unknown - 10th) "Couldn't get the lead off that stinkin' Binkster thing early, so we settled in behind that piece of s***, had everything covered behind me around the turn and as we started to make our move, the %*!#&!@ leader lands in my lap forcing us out of the race. That ass**** Bonneau needs to learn to ride a horse properly. I hate the fu***** French!"

          2yo fillies:

Nelson (Laced Up Binkster - last) "The further they went the further this one went backwards. Just couldn't handle the class today"

Oneto Jr (Orbital Velocity - 4th) "Ran his heart out today. Pleasing run and just missed 3rd. Winner was too good"

Bonneau (Time To Dive - 3rd) "Finished ok but not as good as previous weeks. Still runs ok in this class but needs luck"

Velez (Sal's Lovely Key - 7th) "Trainer said Sal was prepped up to win this. Pig's ass! She was never gonna catch the *%!@#!%@ at any stage. I hate fu***** trainers!"

Lopez (FAREWELL CHAMP - Winner) "She is awesome to ride. Had it won a long way from home even running 3-wide. They were no match for her today"

Smith (Intrigue - 2nd) "I got her into a handy spot on the fence coming round the turn. She finished well but was never going to win it"

Krutz (Giamialia - 5th) "I was surprised how quickly she responded. Had a tough wide run down the back but finished on well in the stretch. This one ain't as bad as it looked on paper prior to the race"

Gard (Looky Loo - 6th) "She just didn't want to race and we were tailed off badly. She finished strongly along the fence but it was far too late. I guess I shouldn't have relaxed as much early on."
