Golden Ticket for all Finals next season?

I propose an expensive stakes race towards the end of the season, $25k entry, and 75% of the money goes into the finals pool, the rest divided up between 1-2-3 only. The winner gets an automatic nomination into the finals. the remaining top 11 season qualifier point getters function as normal.

Requirement would be minimum 8 or 10 horses or all monies refunded and race would not run. Something like that

This would add $225k into the finals pool with a full field of 12, with the other $75k divided 35k + 35k bonus creds to winner, 20k + 20k bonus creds to 2nd, and 15k +15k bonus creds to 3rd.

Adding $225k to the finals would be nice if we could get a full field, and with the golden ticket to finals that would then approach 600-700k purses, it might work.

Thoughts? I ask to please at least consider the benefits and deltas before immediately saying no!

Oh, and I have 3 or 4 horses minimum myself I would have entered this season, were this alive and functioning this season!

I have a feeling that would be a programming nightmare to get one horse into finals with different structure than the others. However there are some things I like about your proposal. There have been a few stables that have wanted bigger money races. Might be easier to convince Lone just to add some higher entry races to see how they go though???

I like the high roller stake race . not sure about adding it to the Championships . I think that might put some smaller budget stables at a disadvantage .

I think the key is knowing in advance. If we started the season knowing the top 11 make the finals along with a "win and you're in" race winner then I would be fine.

The idea of high roller race is fine but in my opinion no ticket to the finals should be offered.

Entry into the finals should be a culmination of efforts throughout the season not just one roll of the dice

Maybe you combines the two ideas this and seconds to none and do a race the last day of season . I can reset meters sell a ticket 25k . you can do two different types of races sprint and route . there are 20-25 horses that could run this type of race . We can do 3 -- 5 max gates races if you can get 15, then the winners of those races will race in a race for 375k .I will replace the racing fee with BC so it will be a race for 375 .

This will count towards the horse of the year,but not decide it . I think that one race to determine the HOY is not a fair way to pick a HOY . There are many things that need to be considered .

I am open to ANY way to get more purse money available to capable horses. This does not necessarily take an army of horses to win. One horse can win it from a small stable.
