i wanted to get a thread going on this .....as it is a mess on the public breeders page ....i am as much at fault as anyone with all the garbage listed.

my idea is this ....you must qualify for public breeding .....not breeding for your barn ...just for public breeding.....same stips remain for retiring a horse to breed in your own barn,it is your choice to retire it without meeting "public breeding"stips(with it possible to get there after retiring and breeding though see below). what i am looking for here are ideas on those stips....i.e. 1 ssr win qualified, 30 races qualified, earnings over 100k etc. and for already retired horses breeding in stable barns ...offspring earnings per race ....# of races must be set here ..or number of offfspring ..or both......at maybe $1600 or $1700 ...perhaps different for mares and sires?

    Thoughts ?

    Steve RO

i think the breeding portion of the game is what makes it so much better than the other race sites.

ps i dont think paying on the breeders page is a good idea ...but foggy's comment is what got me thinking ...which is listed at the top of the page.

Just dumb. Why do we need to pay the site to list our horses for breeding? They already charge a monthly subscription and get 10% for each breed.

What is the big deal? Are you guys too lazy to scan through the horses and find a suitable breeder? The racing stats are shown on the main page so it's not real difficult.

If you don't like what you see on the breeding page then use your own breeders. Simple as that! Why fix something that isn't broken? Like Toc says, there are 100 more pressing things here.

Yes I am too lazy to shift thru garbage. hundreds of horses of my own and bonafide breeders of my own there is no way I am going thru countless muck horses. I am a buyer but my money just doesnt make it to the page because its so bad. The page could be enhanced with better drill down features to help people like myself that needs to use my time as efficiently as possible. I havent been able to log on in 3 weeks let alone try to make heads or tails of that cesspool. I also agree with foggy that there should be a fee in some capacity to enter the breeders market.

While i did say there are more pressing matters i would say this is one of them and heres why

Talk about promoting the site......breeding capabilities here happen to be one of the main draws and also the biggest potential for profits. The #1 & #2 virtual racing sites in the world have zero...ZERO breeding. Always target the weak spots of the competition. Breeding should be away to promote the site but more importantly promoting your own breeding stock. Should be linked to stable pages that allow stables to talk about and promote their stock and offspring results etc etc etc. I could go on all day with this one and how to make it a profitable and promotion aspect.

Once again there is a lack of man power or attention to this potential and clear and concise short sightedness by active stables regarding this matter.

Maybe we just get your approval before putting a horse on the breeding page?

sarcasm is awesome...yet doesnt actually help anything. Doesnt change the fact that the page is garbage. you always seem to take the other side for what reason only you would know. I have every right to express my view and if you dont like it or cant handle thats on you Cuz. I have no feathers to get ruffled

There is a sort function by money earned so the best can easily be identified.

There already is a breeding fee.

              "Garbage" is subjective.

What other issues have I been on the opposite side? More races distances for created horses? What a horrible position for me to take.

Sorting by earnings means and does nothing and is certainly not an indicator of the quality of the breeder. Anyhow i dont do the back and forth thing. Maybe its over your head...I have said my piece and I will move on.

So let's put a threshold on what type of breeders are allowed but not all good breeders meet this threshold? Or some that win big on the track but can't produce any offspring. That is what you are saying which is a big contradiction. With your arrogance you would make a great cop.

Let me try this again for those that can't understand. So far I have earned probably $50-$100 with my breeders. If you put a earnings cap of $100K on breeders then I have nothing. Instead the money will go to the big stables. That is why this is a self serving idea for those who are proposing it.

I do not think putting a earnings restriction is a good idea. Just like in real life horses that don't run fast sometimes make good moms. Like I said in another thread, the best horse I got the mom won 66k. Her offspring will break 2,000,000 soon. So with some type of restriction TC farms would not of been able to list her for me to use. It may be confusing to a new player with all that are listed but with some work finding a good one can be done.

This thread is a prime example of why this site can't move forward. The opposer's of proposals shoot things down without offering any solutions.

A simple way to please everybody is just add another breeding page with some minimum requirements for the horse to be allowed to be displayed their.

In the UK when a horse wins a class 1 race its known as a 'black type' horse. This is because it's printed in bold type in sales catalogues. These horses are also far more saught after when they go to stud as well.

That's something very simple with minimal fuss for the site to implement and it doesn't affect anybody as nothing really changes other than improving the breeding aspect ever so slightly.

People need to get positive here. I proposed a lot of changes on a thread I created yesterday and its had two replies. I know I'm not that popular here, I figured that out a long time ago but everybody is unhappy and nobody cares to respond to ideas unless they come from a big stable.

This place is a mess IMO
