  • Anyone else have this problem

So last night I double and triple check my horses instruction in the filly Elim heat 1 I set heyto push only to watch her run into the ground on the rail and check her form and she is set on jockey decide. A wasted race cause she would have no
Shot unless on push, very frustrating.

Mine was re-set to steady in the first heats, as a result buck nekid who almost set a track record tonight will not be in the final, I feel your pain. Tonight I checked jockey instructions constantly all day long to ensure it was not changed again. I have never raced a horse on steady at 7F and I had both my entries set to that for the ist heats????

        Never had a problem...ever

I do know that all Jockeys were originally on JD's and when any reset kicks in it goes back to JD so Steady is very odd indeed

On rare occasions, I've had horses run with the wrong instructions. With the eliminator, because Joe has to enter the instructions manually, he sets them all as "jockey decides."Occasionally I've forgotten to change one of those. Other times, I've had horses run in regular races with the wrong instructions. I am confident that those errors have been mine. Although I don't recall making such errors, I am forced to face my own fallibility and accept that as a more likely culprit than a rogue binary code that singles me out. I also don't remember leaving the refrigerator door open on Christmas eve; but it seems more likely that it was me (with assist to Johnny Walker) rather than one of Santa's elves.

Right, that would make sense if I EVER ran a 7F race on steady but I never ever did except for those two races????? I am blaming no-one and have decided there is nothing that can be done, just a question was asked about the eliminator and I answered it.

The horses were set on jockey decides. To change that to push, a trainer had to click on the menu, scroll down, and change it. If a horse ran on steady, there are three possibilities. (1) The trainer accidentally clicked steady (user error) or (2)The trainer clicked on push and the binary code set to accept input from a mouse changed her entry; or (3) elves. Occam's Razor.

One correction...Carl manually enters the horses..I do everything but enter the horses(I set the fields and send him the information)as I do NOT have access to the back of the house what so ever. The only thing I have is a race editing program to set up races and I can credit users and issue vouchers...Yes the default is jockey decides and it is your responsibility to change it. Obviously if we are putting in your jockeys manually ourselves and there has been no asking of what instructions, one would think it would be necessary to reset it yourself to your personal preference. I didn't think it was necessary to state the obvious(although next I will most definitely do so) . As for the steady instruction for Maritime...I could see if I had access to your account in any way, your eyebrow being raised(seeing I am so horrible to you), but since I don't think you can lay it to rest that you accidentally clicked the wrong choice. To err is human.. To misclick something that is immediately next to something would have nothing to do with if you ever used that instruction. I have on a couple occasions made similar mistakes in inputting races in with these drop down things. As Forrest Gump says, it happens...

I can have Carl look into it and see when it was set and if it was accessed by another IP etc.

It is worth looking into. If anything is found, I will PM you and not make it public and we can figure out from there. I dont think and hope we dont find anything, but if so, it needs to be dealt with.
