Is it always fast? I cant remember this when i used to play..Does it effect jockey decisions and post positions at all?

Yes, the track conditions are always fast (dirt) and firm (turf). It has zero effect on post positions, and to the best of my knowledge, on jockey decisions. I asked this same questions a couple of years ago when I began playing D/D, and at one time the track conditions would vary; however, I believe there were problems with the training of horses (with the various conditions), and the backlash was such that D/D scrapped the whole idea.

Hope this helps - anyone that has any other info on this, feel free to correct me.
