Thanks for the write-up Pete. After watching Rachel Alexandra yesterday, I doubt that HJ is in her class. HJ is a prolific winner for us... up to 5f. Rachel is far more versatile than that.
Her name. I just took the Hunter part of her dam Meifish Hunter added it to the Jack part of her sire Jack Sprat. Hunter Jack got stretched out ot Hunter's Jacket but that sounded too masculine so as I usually do, changed it to something French sounding to make it appear more feminine hence... Hunter's Jacquette.
We are hoping that we can get more distance out of her but this may not happen until next season. One thing to note and this may be a helpful hint to newer stables, is that all her works are around 1:09.40 which wouldn't normally indicate the sprinter she is. This strengthens the argument that what happens in works doesn't necessarily repeat in races.
