                  Weekly Winner results:

Woodville Stables backed their pre-race smack by landing Wasp $75 @ 7/1, which stung Boris' bet on Traffic Cop, to give them an overall profit of $350. Newcomer Grand Prix selected 3 of the 5 winners ($175 profit) and Racing Downs with his "If in doubt, pick #1" betting strategy" got 2 winners ($100 profit).

But wait..... the protest flag is up.

Rule #1 Para 5 sub-clause 6 states "The weekly winner must place a bet in ALL races." Woodville only placed bets in 4 of the 5 races.

We are awaiting a ruling from GLL's legal representatives "Bribem, Tryem and Fryem".

                  Stay tuned...

Well, I can report that it got real nasty. Here is a summation of events:

                        Before the DD Judiciary Board:

                        Representing GLL: Boris
                        Representing Woodville: Les (TexasEast)

Each spoke at length and no-one had a clue what they were talking about. The court stenographer walked out in disgust half-way through proceedings.

In essence, Les opened up with the "Wookie Defense"

Les unrolled a huge picture of Chewbaka. I'll get some details wrong, but this is close to what he said:

"Ladies and gentlemen of the supposed judiciary, this...is Chewbaka. Chewbaka is a Wookie from the planet Enduron. But Chewbaka lives with a bunch of Ewoks on the planet Endor. Why would an 8' tall Wookie live with a bunch of Ewoks on a different planet? Does that make sense?

That does not make sense. Ladies and gentlemen of the supposed judiciary, does it make sense that Chewbaka would live on Endor?

                        It does not make sense!

This case does not make sense!

How can my client be guilty if Chewbaka is livin on Endor with a bunch of Ewoks? It does not make sense! If Chewbaka lives on Endor you must acquit! Thank you." Score: Woodville 1 GLL 0

Boris countered with the now famous Potato Attack:

"If potato farms are all subsidised in this country, why is there such a heavy duty on Vodka?" Score: Woodville 1 GLL 1

Les: "My wife is pregnant with our 2nd child" Score: Woodville 2 GLL 1

Boris: "I really dig old folks in black robes, kinda kinky" Score: Woodville 2 GLL 0

...and there you have it. The ruling goes in favor of Woodville Stables and the protest is dismissed. The judiciary recommended that GLL be more explicit when writing the rules to their contests in future. Boris agreed and said that he would personally draft up all rules from now on.

                        Protest dismissed.

Woodville is now officially this week's voucher winner. Congrats and hope you can create another Wasp.

After that beautiful explanation, no wonder Craig won..... The Russian and his firm, Boris, Wobbles and Fallsover has lost another case and screwed it up.
