Was just wondering .I have bred a few horses and most cant seem to be able to get out of there own way.Have they slowed the times down on new breds or do i just have slow horses ??
Times are much slower than they once were. From what I've seen of your workout times, your horses should be very competitive next year. If they aren't, then neither will mine be.
Funny, we just had a thread about faster than normal times. This year, I bred 2 yearlings. One has a best time of 108.89 and the other a best time of 109.13. Many others have faster horses. . .who knows what's going on with times?
"Rachel WON. She wins INDEED. Rachel Alexandra THE GREAT."
"Here's a filly for the ages--a Haskell legend. Rachel DID IT."
"And now Rachel Alexandra is opening up 5 lengths on the field, 6. . .oh a Tour De Force by the super filly!"
"Oh, Rachel Alexandra. . .Calvin Borel isn't moving a muscle on her. Super filly? You bet!"
"What's the final margin? She might've won by 20!"
Times have seemed a bit faster lately--in comparison to a few months ago. But they are slower than when Russ was last here, which was the comparison I was making, given that his concern had obvious roots in that comparison.
Basically, Russ, I have been watching your 5F times, and it seems you'll be just fine next season. Next run them all at 1M steady to see which ones are eliminator worthy.
