  • Newbie mistake?

I'm sending this out to all here in hopes of giving Raceland Farms a break here. She just claimed Royal KC for $30k and I believe entered Royal KC in error in a starter allowance/claiming race. This example has happened many times before here with this confusing condition, since the horse Regina just claimed last race for $30k is now eligible to be claimed for $5k. Maybe cut her a break on this one?

I think we should wait until two hours before post and if there isn't a scratch, then it's open game?
Well, it's clear I didn't come here to win your approval.

Thank you *so* much for the heads-up. Yes, I didn't notice this was a "claiming Starter Allowance" -- never heard of that before!

I will scratch, though I apparently can't at this time. I get the "C" box on the other horses, but no "S" box on KC. I've never scratched before, so I don't know how else I'm supposed to be able to do it. Guess I'll see if the "S" box shows up tomorrow morning when it's the "Today's Races" screen.

That's so considerate of you to point this out!

        Maybe Carl could cancel this?

I have never heard of a 'claiming starter allowance'. I am going to look at this. Have there been others?

Nice of you to give the 'heads up', but sadly it is too late. Carl?

I appreciate the extreme consideration, but no special circumstances are necessary on my behalf. I feel that horses in claiming races are fair game, no matter the situation.

I'm bummed but it was my mistake (gee, in the recent newsletter didn't I mention that women are more attentive to details to men, LOL?)

Whining about it isn't going to solve anything.

Now I (and perhaps a few others) will be all the wiser.

Congrats to whoever ends up with KC.
