New Purse Structure

The straight 15% deduction with a 3 horse minimum to race plan sounds great to me. I also like the idea of the added money to the stakes races. This will solve a lot of the problems some stables have voiced concerns over, like no more stacking a race with 6 stable mates, then scratching for profits, and more importantly less cancelled races and a lot less frustrating nomination refunds. I like it!

Excellent solution to many problems. I want to see DD making a profit on every race.

The new viewer is well worth the wait for testing and de-bugging.

Everyone that plays should just be cautious and patient with your races during this testing period and just keep expressing those observances that appear out of whack. Carl and the programmers will handle it from there with the same dilligence and accuracy that we are accustomed to.

This is a good solution but I do see some issues that will arise. The most notable concerns i see are:

1. How do scratches affect the purse structure and

2. This has a profound affect on what happens when a race goes from 12 to 13 entries.

I don't see these ase major drawback, just issues that could use some clarification.

If it were me, I would say this:

1. The race purse is 85% of all entry fees, less scratch refunds. For instance. if 10 horses entered and paid $2 each but 5 scatched and got a 50% refund, the purse for the race would be 85% of $15.

2. there are many ways to deal with this one. you could just leave alone. You could not split races, or you could add a race after 12, rather than splitting. There are other possibilities as well.

I like the idea of adding a race after 12 entries. If we're going to the new purse structure of 15% for DD (which is fine with me) I love the thought of adding races after 12 horse fields rather then splitting. Good one Coach!

I for one like the new purse structure. For one thing-it means that my horses will get to run, and not be in races that are cancelled over and over again. You'll still get winnings, and DD will be able to make money on each race, which is what keeps the game afloat. I like the races getting split if there are over 12 entries, but either way it goes on that, is fine with me--I just am SO TIRED of entering 6-8 horses only to find only 1-2 actually getting to race. The lack of races actually running is going to make the game stagnate, and we sure don't want that!
