What criteria do you base it on, Sal?

The most treasured prize in all of DD land. One can't simply win a race to earn this prestigious award. The person receiving this PRIZE award must be able #1- to be able to talk #2- of outstanding character #3- a true sportsman.

          Are you looking for nominations?

I haven't been getting to the pub or lounge as much as I used to but Rory of Ryan's Express seems ok to me. He has published a guide for newbies, that Carl is talking about putting into the game. He has also done what no one else has been able to do since year 1........beat Jeff's Favorite Trick outfit for trainer of the year. Of course Pete is one of the friendliest and most helpful of all the fine people here and he did try to run the newspaper which is quite a big deal. Thunder still operates the Pub in an upscale manor and is very helpful, but since Pete & Norm have both won in the past, I'd like to see a newbie get it this year.

So I nominate Rory of Ryan Express.

Looking over the qualilfications several come to mind. I wouldn't want to be responsible for picking. I will help by making a nomination if I could. Even with that I'm torn 3 ways between Rory, Belmont and Lasmron. Well like meatloaf said 2 out of 3 ain't bad or something like that. But seriously Rory helps keep the chat room going on the weekends and is always there to answer my annoying questions...much in the same way Pete has been. And of course Norm is a staple of the game so I'm just digging myself into a hole here. And of course there's James that has sprung onto the scene but he's going to rack up the silver star awards so maybe we shouldn't shower him with too much praise, but give him time I think he'll be a contender. This site if full of great people so I digress and leave it up to you Sal haha.

I agree that Rory (Ryan Express) is an excellent nomination for the Season 6 award. His forum threads have been extremely beneficial and the construction of his Newbie Guide will become the D/D bible for joining stables for many seasons to come. He has put the promotion and wellbeing of D/D ahead of his own stable, yet he has still maintained top trainer status.

Pete (CanNorth)'s thankless and tireless work with The Tracksider, keeping it alive with various "of interest" articles and his continued efforts to make all feel welcome in the Forum plus his heart of gold get him my runner's up vote.

...and finally, Brian (Vagabundo), whose humour and probing threads (albeit wacky at times) generate much stable input and ensures that the Forum is a great daily read for all.

With these 3 gentlemen involved, D/D can only thrive.

                Norm

Ok I was just teasing. LOL! This year was very tough. Many very worthy of the Sal Award which I take great pride in. Pete who fits everything the Sal Award is meant to represent is so deserving. But like it was said he's won twice in the past and it's time to pass the torch. Rory, whos guide for beginners will be a classic someday was also deserving. But he won the trainers title and like I've stated this award isn't about winning races. So my dear friends I proudly present to you this years winner.

The Sal Award to none other then

                    Brain from Stickyglue

                    CONGRATS!

Wow I had just completed a post about how I was so honored just to be nominated and reaffirmed my view that Rory was more deserving because I had an army of elves that got me to where I was, but was unfortunately timed out before I could post it. Oh and there was "probing thread" joke in there from Norm's post, but its better left unposted because it would give him another reason to call me gay hahahah.

But seriously as usual. It truly is an honor and am glad to say I'm proud to be part of such a great community and that you all let me play the game with you. Here's to hoping we can all make it even better and again Thank you very much
