Are the Jockeys abilities tweaked every season? I know some seem to perform better/worse year to year, but is that a symptom of the rides they are getting, or is there changes made to their abilities each season?

I'd like to see more programmed variation in their performance year to year... At this point there are only about 10 that I ever consider, and some that might as well not even be on the list, but it would be cool to see Bravo or Solis start to have some success...

Jockeys are not updated every season. There hasnt been any changes to them since the season that Morrison and Pham were added. I was planning on an update for the new season. Any changes that are made will be gradual nothing outrageous but I do think we are due for an update. I will post more about it when changes are made. Might retire a couple so we need to have a race for the winners to pick the name of the new jocks.

I'd rather see more balance among the jockey's skills. I understand there needs to be "elite" jockeys as an award for horses with more winnings, but I think it would be better for the rest of the pool to be more level. Maybe more specialization, but an overall better balance. As it is the top 3 jockeys rode 50% of the mounts this season, with Sutherland and Curatolo accounting for 36%... I know a lot of that is that the Stables that run the most races always choose those 2 (including me), but I think more balance would be better.

Then again, maybe the balance already exists and the numbers are just a reflection of our choices as trainers...

The jockey bios give some hints,there are a lot of niche jockeys. Jockeys that would out perform the top used jockeys say at turf sprint races for example but arent used. There still some gems in there that for one reason or another dont get used. Perhaps used a few times with bad results and the community avoids them all season. There's always more than 12 jocks that are viable options. Not just the five or six that everyone tries to use.I do think that stats are slanted by the fact that all the top horse choose two or three jocks. greatly inflating their stats. If everyone chose Bravo or someone with horrible numbers as their first choice He may not win 25% but would be substantially better just because he would get all the top rides.

I'd like to see some jockeys not be allowed to race certain races. Like for instance the 1 dollar races why have the elite racing in them. Shorten the options of jocks in certain races.

I like that idea......we need some better statistics to analyze the "not so used jocks" . That would be an idea i support (another would be different jocks at different tracks...between the 3 tracks )

I'm guessing that's a programming nightmare. If you all can convince Lone of it more power to you. I'll see what I can do about giving better bios for the new season.

Yes minimal changes except the retirement of McKay. I updated bio on any jock that was changed.
