I have no problem with the times that yearlings run. My concern was that their workout times didn't reflect on the track when they turned 2yo. This one works well but will he be an Alw or a 6K Claimer? I won't know until next season. I am still gun-shy about breeding a stack of yearlings. My fingers are still smoldering from this season.Calder DD Dirt fst 6.0f 22.14 45.00 1:08.84 1 1 1 1 Curatolo R(P) V 120

I have not had one Colt Yearling since I tried breeding break 1:09.00 ........After about 20 attempts, it took GULP gelding to get them anywhere NEAR race-worthy. Isn't "fixing" their workout times to be slower just going to make a bad situation worse?
Plus, I say scrap the yearlings, only the cause of frustration and heartache... It's the 2 year olds who work out and run like CHAMPS for TWO races, then drop eventually to $3k claimers that needs fixing.
I will breed one more, to see what happens. That's it. I shot and killed about 10, kept 10.....just in case a 57.90 gelding can actually win a $12k claimer.

Well I just bred a yearling and it is the first one I haven't had to kill.
Deadly Game: 109.00, 122.03, 135.86, 149.75, 213.96, 218.71.
I was unaware that there was a problem with the training times or I might not have been so quick to kill the others I bred.

I killed in the context of the status quo too Burky, i.e. I killed 1:09.14 horses and 1:36.21 horses...... No big deal, just $50k bonus credits down the drain.
Don't want to come off negative, but PLEASE tell me this was JUST discovered last night, and HEAVEN FORBID not on the chat.
Concerned, but not a huge, huge deal......I know y'all are tryin' !!!
[EDIT] and I will say it again....If you want people to stick around with consistent results, then It's the 2 year olds who work out and run like CHAMPS for TWO races, then drop eventually to $3k claimers that needs fixing.
I am literally STARTING careers in "A" Division and qualifiers, and then working my way backwords with success, knowing they are going to become $12k to $30k claimers when I get 1:08.84 horses......I don't have it in me to ask $12 or $30k and expect a claim box claim though. I usually try to let them suck for a few races, and then sell off at $3k or dollar, so no one feels cheated. This scenario has played out multiple times now....just let me know if you need some names as examples.
Heart is something that should either be RARER, or of LESS impact. Period. AS Worsley Road stated, Workout codes should nearly mirror racing codes in the race engine, not the oft-perpendicular results we see 60% of the time or more.

This is good news. I remember putting this to you a while ago. Glad to see it rise to the surface and being implemented. Thanks for actioning it.Originally posted by Lone Star Stables View Postworking on the multi training part - this will allow you to train vs others and choose post ,weight ,jockey, and jockey instructions . You will be able to run on the track to test heart . It will be like a race but using your own to test it against .

Orb - I agree with your statement. I have also found horses are sharp for their first 5 races and then they tail off. My conclusion is that this is probably intentional to keep the breeding money making machine turning. Not saying this is Lone's doing, probably built into the original programming.Doing is the best way of saying

I just wonder whether it is a case of a horse climbing up the totem pole meeting stronger competition as it rises. The higher up it goes it becomes more critical to get a decent post/jockey and luck in running against other similar or stronger competition. I doubt that there is something in the programming to stop a horse from winning.

Not sure Norm. I remember even Lone had Justice Crystal (?) which won it's first 8 races and then just died. This year I had Free Palestine win first five races, including 4 qualifiers and really hasn't done much since.
Tristessa had the best workout times ever for me. Broke the track record first time out in a qualifier. Never even came close to repeating anything worth noting.
It just happens all the time to the majority of horses.Doing is the best way of saying

another thing to do to check your horses heart is use the worse Jockey. I think most use a better jockey to train , which adds to the horses ability
