  • training for a race advice

hi all....i entered my 2 freebies in a free race for may 31 to try to get my feet wet. any advice on how they should train to maximize their potential to run in the race....they are at 100 all around right now...i already did a timed work out (not great) and they have done the lgps to get back to 100. now they have today and tomorrow to get ready.....should i sit them until the race or should they do some kind of training that wont kill their fitness.

    thanks for any input.

Don't do anything. Anything you do will make the meters drop and they won't run to their full potential. Good luck.

ISRS, if their meters are all set then my suggestion would be leaving them alone until they race. There are no penalties if you let them rest for those two days. It's a good idea that you have your meters set before you actually nominate your horses. Pretty sure you know this by now but just a reminder. By the way if you train your horses today and thier meters are already in the 100s then it will not do anything or change any, but if you run a time work out i don't think you'll have enough days to get them ready for the 31st race. So, if you have anymore question just feel free to ask. Anyone here capable of aswering your questions will certainly help.

............your meters will go down if you train today if you've trained too many days in a row without rest.
